Samrand Data Centre network upgrade
We’re in the process of upgrading our network infrastructure at our Samrand Data Centre to increase the flexibility and capacity of our network while simplifying maintenance and improving redundancy.
What will the upgrade entail?
Once complete, our entire network fabric will be replaced with the latest Juniper network devices. The upgrade will include new architecture (spine and leaf), EVPN (Ethernet VPN) and VXLAN (Virtual Extensible LAN).
Moving host connections to new top-of-rack-switches
We’ll start with the replacement of network switches that offer both capacity and utility benefits - enabling network growth for 10+ years. We expect to be able to provide 1Gbs links to customers early 2022 once the full upgrade is complete.
When:
Tuesday, 16 November between 21:00 and 02:00
Affected Server(s):
All Instant Web Servers
Impact:
The total expected downtime per host will only be a couple of seconds.
Action required:
As network connectivity may be affected, we suggest that you don’t run any scheduled backups during this maintenance period.
